Well done to everyone who took part in this year's junior events. Entries for Bournemouth Marathon Festival 2016 are now open.
Date: Saturday 1st October 2016
Start time: The 1.5k will start at 1:30pm. The 2k will start at 2.30pm.
Age limit: Runners aged 6-8 will run 1.5k and runners aged 9-12 will run 2k.
Price: There are various entry options, please click here to be taken to them. Entries may close early if the race reaches entry capacity. Please note: if you are a parent entering a junior race on behalf of your child, please create a my details account in your child's name. If you are entering more than one child, you would need to create a separate my details account for each child. You can use the same email address for each child but would have to use a separate password for each.
Route: Starting on Bournemouth Prom and finishing near the Bournemouth Marathon Festival Hub in the Lower Gardens, this beautiful coastal route takes in the Bournemouth Pier. It's a great race for kids of all ages.
Junior race collection point: A child safety pen will be implemented for both races, located just passed the finish line on pier approach. No child from the junior races, regardless of age, will be allowed to exit this pen without an accompanied adult. Adults must take the tear off strip from the bottom of their child's race number before they start the race to enter the collection pen at the finish and pick up their child. Course time limit: There is a course time limit of 25 minutes for the 1.5K race and 40 minutes for the 2K race.

Schools competition: It's a fantastic opportunity to run as part of a team and represent your school and win £150 of schools equipment for your school. Schools with at least 3 boys or 3 girls entered to any junior race will automatically be entered into the competition. This competition is in association with Active Dorset. Event chip timing: Timings for all junior runners will be recorded using a chip timing system - your timing chip will be embedded into your running number.
Results: A full list of results will be published online, right here on the results page of the event website, following the races on October 1st and 2nd, 2016. Full and final results will also be made available to relevant parties for the purposes of verification for other events or for the updating of ranking systems. Baggage: There will be a baggage drop off point available for runners at the start/finish area. This will be clearly marked in your final details documents and signage will guide you there on the morning of the race.
