there are various options available to you for travel throughout the event weekend.

saturday 5th october
the bournemouth marathon festival hub is located at bournemouth lower gardens.  this is near the start and finish location for the 1.5k & 3k childrens, speed of light 5k and supersonic 10k races.

on foot

the bournemouth marathon hub is a 2-3 minute walk from bournemouth pier approach.

by bus 

the bournemouth lower garden's are located near to the bus station is served by  more and yellow buses services. please visit bus site website for more information. 

by train

the nearest train station is nearest train station is bournemouth central. this is mid way between the start and the finish.  approximate walk to the finish 15mins.

sunday 6th october
the start of the bournemouth marathon, and half marathon is on kings park drive.  the race will finish at bournemouth pier approach in the town centre.  event parking will be available at kings park.

getting to the start

on foot

the races start on kings park drive.  your race instructions will give you a map of the area.  

by bus

yellow buses and more operate local bus services close to the start area.  please visit the bus websites for full details of timetables. 

by train

the nearest train station is nearest train station is bournemouth central. this is mid way between the start and the finish.  approximate walk to the finish 15mins.

getting back to kings park after the race

by event shuttle bus

there will be event shuttle buses operating between the finish area and kings park.  these services are the fastest way to travel and we strongly suggest you opt to travel this way.

tickets for these services can be bought from the online shop.  there are different tickets available for runners and spectators.  if a child requires their own seat then please buy a ticket for each child.  if they are of an age to be sitting on an adults knee they do not require their own ticket.  tickets will be available to purchase from march 2013.

by public bus

by train

no tickets will be sold on the event bus.  tickets will be checked before you get on the bus.  please have them ready to show.
