The Bournemouth Marathon course is fully compliant with IAAF measurement regulations and times run in the Bournemouth Marathon are eligible for world and domestic records as well as qualifying times for Olympic Games and other major championships.

The Bournemouth Marathon Festival supports the dedication and commitment of elite athletes competing in the Bournemouth Marathon by offering an attractive prize money structure and time-bonus structure.  

We are a proud member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). The Bournemouth Marathon Festival can be viewed along with all other AIMS associated races on the AIMS event calendar at the following link: 
Athletes and Agents
To apply for elite athlete standing at the Bournemouth Marathon, please click here to email our Elites Coordinator. Please provide proof of your time when submitting the email. Doping control may be in effect in accordance with IAAF requirements for member athletes.
Elite Athletes and Top Club Entries
International and British elite athletes must meet the outlined criteria to be eligible for elite or top club entries.  All athletes must have run the standard since 1st January 2015. Please note that half marathon and 10k times can be used to qualify for an elite place into the marathon but we do not offer elite places into the half marathon or 10k race.

Elite (a standard) receives complimentary entry, a contribution towards travel expenses, front start pen access and a complimentary night's accommodation if based outside the local area, subject to availability. 

Top club (b standard) receives complimentary entry and front start pen access. Please note that top club places are only available to british athletes.

In order to be considered for an elite or top club entry, athletes must apply for elite and top club places no later than 5pm on Wednesday 28th September 2016.

2. Good for Age
If you have run a marathon after the 1st  January 2015 that meets the criteria below then you can apply for a ‘Good for Age’ entry. This is a reduced price entry of £48.94. To be considered for a Good for Age entry, please contact us no later than 5pm on Wednesday 28th September 2016. You must be within the time limit to get a Good for Age entry, please don't contact us if you are not fully within the time limit as we will reject your application.  If you have not run a marathon previously you can use the half marathon good for age criteria. The time criteria for good for age runners is shown below.

How do I apply for a good for age entry?
Please contact us with your date of birth and proof of your performance, a link to the race website, results page or record on http://www.thepowerof10.info is perfect. You should receive a reply from us within 7 working days. If your entry is accepted, we will email you an entry password which you should use during the registration process.
